An alumnus of IIT Madras with a Master’s degree ,and a B.Tech from NIT Kurukshetra, he has further honed his skills with a specialization in 3D printing from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign,USA and a CS50 Computer Science course from Harvard University, Sustainability accelerator OPF Fellow’24 and alumni of Centre for civil society and Indian school of democracy in public policy. His academic pursuits encompass additive manufacturing, Sustainability, coding, AI, and formulation of effective public policy. He has worked in infrastructure sector with construction giants L&T, Godrej for airport construction and high rise buildings and been involved as consultant with ministries for implementation and monitoring of flagship programmes in field of education and infrastructure. He also has experience in SaaS sector for HRMS. He comes with experience in project management and brings in wide technical expertise. He is also an active mentor for startups and speaker at various hackathons, including Hack for Earth at COP28 in Dubai, Fuel Asia, Hackmakers and Mentor of Change initiative by NITI Aayog. Graduated in B.Tech. Mechanical engineering from IIT Madras in 1980. Worked in several industries in several sectors across India for about 38 years and returned back to the alma mater to head the Industrial Energy Assessment Cell (IEAC). While in the industries gained experience to be Project Management expert, ISO Auditor, Team Leader and a great team motivator, at IEAC set up the team to audit in industries and come up with solutions to save energy thereby supporting the nation towards Green Energy, Decarbonisation, Sustainability and the Net Zero goal!!! Now continues to lead the Sustainability Services vertical of Green Energy and Sustainability Hub of IIT Bombay.

Quite fondly being addressed by all colleagues in the industries as Rama, is a strong believer in Motivating and mentoring the next generation, sharing knowledge and experience and payback to the society enabling it grow technically, socially and peacefully!!!

Malati is a science consultant in the areas of chemistry and materials , specifically catering to industries such as oil and gas, pharmaceuticals and renewables. Currently, she is enjoying her stint as Guest faculty and at the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IITM) where she facilitates a  few courses involving cross-discipline Science/technology (for M.Tech) and a hugely popular general course “Happiness, Habits and Success” for the BTechs. She also facilitates the “Nurturing Women’s leadership potential” course for women students.

She is passionate about Science education, especially its pedagogy enabling a STEM spark in young minds. She serves as an advisor in content creation of Chudar, a non-profit in the Tamil Nadu school education space (https://www.chudar.org/about-chudar-education/) and PALS, an IITM outreach initiative for rural engineering colleges (https://palspgm.com/)

When not in the science mode, Malati teaches spoken Sanskrit to children via Samskrita Bharati Balakendram. She is an ardent carnatic music aficionado, a trained vocalist and a kutcheri hopper.

Latha Venkitachalam is a seasoned professional based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, with over two decades of experience in the education sector. She has held significant roles in various organizations, including serving as the General Manager at The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Chennai, where she forged lasting professional relationships. Latha served as the Executive Director of the IIT Madras Alumni Association (IITMAA) for six years, where she played a pivotal role in enhancing alumni engagement and transforming the association’s initiatives. In January 2022, Latha was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the IIT Bombay Alumni Association (IITBAA). She is currently part of a global NGO enabling professional networking.
